Time For Change

Fall 2

I can’t believe it has been this long since my last post.    I’ve looked at my blog several times this summer and wondered if I should just delete it.  Life has not been the best the past few months.  There has been family turmoil, health problems and even sudden passing of a family member in the prime of her life.

I have not had much enthusiasm to post about much of anything.  So, I asked myself if it was something that I still wanted to do or even enjoyed doing.  Well, I decided that I am going to give it another go…..but this time with some changes.  When I first started my blog in 2008, I was undecided to what it should be named.  I decided on Crystal Rose Cottage because at the time, roses, cottages were all the rage. I was really “into” that kind of thing.  I still am, but I have also evolved over the last few years.  Haven’t we all?

I decided to change the title of my blog because back when my oldest son was a young teenager, he would tease me about all the “cutesy” country decorating in the house and he would say to me “oh mom, it’s so darling….looks like darling land”.  Of course he said it in a “tease your mom kind of way”.( I think I used the word “darling “ a lot too)  So, I have changed my blog to “Adventures in Darling Land” because I guess that is what my blog is truly about.    Even though the kids are grown and on their own, my home is still “darling” in my opinion and I do have adventures!

I hope I can make this blog a little fresher , a little more interesting and hopefully have more frequent updates.

Hi Patti- Life does seem to take precedence over blogging, doesn't it? I don't understand how some people let it take over their lives and depend on it to measure their popularity. I say just do what is right for you. I hope you can find the right balance and are happy with your decision. Take care, my friend. Hugs, Sue

Hi Patti, it is a tough time for so many people, I am sorry for all of your challenges and the sudden death of a family member is so, so sad. I love the new name for your blog. It is funny how we keep evolving and changing even if we don't want to. I started Mereknits, because knitting was my main focus. Although the name remains so much more is in my blog. Maybe the name hinders me, I am not sure. But what I do know is that blogging, when we have a the chance connects us to lovely people we grow to care about. So if you need to vent, I am here.
Wishing you a wonderful day,
Meredith

PATTI!

I am so happy to see that a new post has come up for you! I also changed my blog, just a tad....we all change dear one, but something of us is still left. Your love for what you enjoy can still be shared, but change is good for us all.

I applaud you for sharing; many things come our way in life, but what matters is to never give up. Believe me, I am learning THAT RIGHT NOW!

Big hugs, Anita

Sweet friend,

There are so many challenges that many are facing, but it goes down better when we have a connection of faithful friends to help us all get ushered through the tunnel to the light. You have my support. Be well, take each day at a time, and use your blog to express what YOU love.

Change is GOOD, it is not easy, but part of what we are.

HUGS TO YOU SWEET PATTI, Anita

So glad to see you back! I know this has been a very hard time for you and I understand that blogging has to take a back seat to life at times.

Starting off with a new name and a new focus sounds like just what the doctor ordered.

I also like that you are doing with your blog what feels right to you. When I started mine I called it "Teresa Kasner's Crochet". I then realized that I wasn't producing enough crochet to make it the main focus and just dropped the "crochet" part. I'm happy with it now - I just share what is going on in my life and hope that anyone cares. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hi, Patti. I'm soooo glad you visited me--I too, haven't been posting or visiting much. Summer seemed to just fly by, and I had so many tablescapes I wanted to do, and other things to cover! Oh, well...I'm with you, we do what we can when it brings us pleasure and relaxation. If blogging becomes a have-to then it's yet another have-to. Nobody needs more of those!! I'm sorry about your turmoil these past months. I hope Darling Land (love the name) gives you the freedom to enjoy it and to relax. ~Zuni

GOOD MORNING PATTI!

Dear one, it is always a pleasure to come here, and I thank YOU for coming to visit me. CHANGE IS IN THE AIR, indeed, and I am feeling the effects of that change...the change in my course of direction for making a living, art, writing...it is all SPOOKY, like those images I chose. I did it deliberately, and you noticed....GOOD! The unknown is always scary, isn't it?

LOVE! Anita

I was going to ask you why you changed names and then I just scrolled down further and here it is. I think it makes perfect sense. I have often thought of changing my name since no one besides me even understands it. But I just haven't gotten around to it yet. Sorry you've had some issues going on IRL. Hope things are getting more settled this Fall.

I was wondering about the change in name and then I scrolled down to this post. We do evolve don't we? I think my blog has evolved too but not for the better. And I, like you, do not blog as frequently because life gets in the way. I shall visit often and I am glad you decided to keep your blog open for visitors.
