It’s just me! Poking my head out….letting you know I am still around! I had a very nice holiday…very busy and fun, but then my husband and I got sick the week between Christmas and New Years. We didn’t get the “sick take to bed” kind, but just enough of a head cold to make you miserable for a few days. On New Years weekend I cracked a tooth, near the nerve(crunching away on a tortilla chip) a perfectly good tooth or a “virgin tooth” as my dentist called it. Could not get in until the Tuesday after New Years because of the holiday and then I got the bad news. Because it is not fixable…….grrrrr….(expensive) and because it is near the front of my mouth and you can see it when I smile I had to have an impression made and now have to wait to have it pulled so my temporary won’t be ready until next week. So, I get my tooth pulled and my temporary bridge “installed” on the same day. I have been on a boatload of antibiotics, and I can’t chew on one side of my mouth and when I do it has to be very soft. (very painful) So much fun! In the meantime, I have been just hanging out and working on some knitting I started last year.
Here is a scarf I just finished today……
It’s so soft! Made from bamboo yarn!
A few years ago I “relearned” how to knit and I have been chipping away at it a little bit at a time. It passes the time , keeps my hands busy and my mind off of my tooth. I’ve also been doing a little bit of work and gathering ideas on my dollhouse. I’ve also been organizing, a little cleaning and taking it easy. Exciting , huh? So that’s how 2012 is going for me , thus far! Hope it is going well for you! See you all soon!

I love your scarf, So sorry that the two of you were sick over the holidays. And the tooth......my husband finally went to the doctor for his crown. He kept cancelling his appointments. He has been in pain now for quite awhile. Well they couldn't do the crown, he has a bad infection down in the roots, on antibiotics and will have to have a root canal and then the crown. I asked him why they didn't pull the tooth and do the bride. I have one like that and it has worked so much better than the one with a crown. I know it hurts like crazy so I hope it all goes well for you. Geez Louise......those dentist charge an arm and a leg. Our Izzy (yorkie) has to get some pulled and that's expensive as well. Feel better ((((((HUGS))))
feel better Patti! that doesn't sound like much fun at all....well the organizing and knitting does, just not the achy tooth part!!
hope to bump into soon!
Polly
Oh...I feel for you, Patti. I had something very similar happen and it was a long slow process. Hang in there. At least you have your knitting~the scarf is so pretty! I agree, no way to start 2012, but it can only get better!
XO,
Jane
How miserable! I hate tooth problems and am having an issue in that category also... a crown that needs replaced $$$$$$$. Not how I like to spend my money! Hope all is better very soon.
I'm keeping busy organizing... that is, making a huge mess to make it better. So I'm staying in and keeping myself very busy during this blast of winter.
Hugs & prayers, Sherry
I'm so sorry about your tooth and especially all that pain you're going through, Patti. Your scarf is beautiful. I love the mixture of colours in it. I am also learning to reknit but I'm trying to knit something in mini. Yesterday, I accidentally dropped the stitches on this little guy that I'm trying to knit. I was working on its body. Now I have to start all over. I'm trying not to get disheartened over this. If I could just finish this little project, it would be a coup for me. I hope your pain goes away soon, poor you.
I am so sorry about your tooth!
Your scarf is so pretty. I love the colors.
Ahhh...the joy of just knitting, enjoying every knit purl and sitting still. HI PATTI DEAREST! Anita
When it rains, it pours, doesn't it? Sorry to hear about your tooth. Did you go to an endodontist? Well, I wish I knew how to knit- I bought a few really cute ones at a church/old folks home sale. brrr,,,, are you freezing? I am anxiously waiting for spring to show up- guess in a few months, huh? xo sue
Patti...I absolutely LOVE the scarf! Oh my gosh! Just gorgeous. Do you sell them??????
I have teeth from the other side of the world. I wore braces 5 years as a teen and then 2 more as adult. They are still a mess. Wishing you well girly...
LOVE THAT SCARF AGAIN!

Oh how I could use that fuzzy wuzzy scarf at this very moment!!! THANK YOU FOR COMING TO VISIT ME and seeing that chubby little pink piglet! Cute, huh?
HAVE A FAB SUNDAY! Anita
Oh I hate all things dental. I hate the dentist from childhood abuses!! lol, so I totally get how dreadful this whole thing must be. I have a cleaning in Feb which I am dreading already. What a nice hobby to be able to knit such a pretty scarf~and of course my eye is drawn to the pretty blue plate with the roses on it!
Sounds like you've had a rough time of it Patti. I bet you're ready to get back to normal. Your scarf is so pretty ~ I haven't knitted in years ~ just never enough time. Take care.
Cindy
Hi Patti. Your scarf is just so pretty and I love that yarn. They have such lovely yarn anymore. I use to crochet all the time, in fact I think I burnt myself out on it because I did so much, but I was never good with knitting. Maybe it was the working of two needles. Sort of like doing two things at once which I am lousy at. LOL! One track mind. Have a wonderful week and thanks for dropping by. Lona
How's the tooth. I think we are getting snowed or iced in this week-end.
Are you going to make 6 hearts.......please let me know this week-end. (((((HUGS))))
Patti, I am so sorry about your tooth! Been there, done that andy have the crown to prove it! Dental stuff is no fun...love the scarf! Those floors are fabulous! Good to hear from you!!

NICE TO HEAR FROM YOU.. I know I am very fortunate to have spool.. he had had one here for 35 years and we loved it yet so replaced it as we do not travel to Florida or other areas like other retired couples...I would not have any of these luxuries if it were not for Tom.. I greatly appreciate all the little pleasures offers and am so thankful for them...Our home is charming but modest .... Hope the coming year is kind to you and your family... I am looking forward to warmer weather but so far it has been a very easy winter...
Oh, you poor baby... i hate teeth stuff. Hopefully by the time i read your next post, it'll all be behind you, and you'll be good as new. Your scarf is beautiful, i bet it's therapeutic for you to knit it...
Cindy
Sweet Patti!!!!!!!
Thank you for poking your head around my corner dearest! It is always so good to see you. ANY SNOW FOR YOU? None or us. Oh well, it is almost going to be spring!!!
ENJOY THE ANTICIPATION MY DEAR! Anita
Just stopping by to say HI and have a great weekend Patti! Thanks for coming by and leaving your kind comment.
Big hugs, Sherry
Oh Patti! I'm so sorry to hear about your tooth. That kind of pain is so constant. It's just awful! and to add insult to injury, it takes the pleasure out of eating! I do hope you're healing well now and have your beautiful smile again.
The scarf is gorgeous and sounds so warm and comfy. Good girl for starting to knit again! That's totally cool!
Patricia :o)
Beautiful!! I found your blog and I liked the content. From today I still, if you want to invite you to visit my blog and if you like it, I would like to have you as a follower on my blog to keep in touch. With warm regards.
Manoli.
Hey sweet girl! :) Our anniversary/valentines day went much better than our actual wedding day. ;-) lol TJ bought me a fountain for my back yard...it goes on the wall and has a rounded top..oh so pretty! I handmade his gift this year...it was a book. I put one letter of the alphabet on top of each page of the book, starting with A of course, and wrote what he means to me starting with that letter. Then I wrote him a love letter after the alphabet, to fill the rest of the book. :) I also cooked him a nice dinner and finished it off with chocolate covered strawberries. :)
I sure hope your mouth is feeling even better than the last time we talked. You poor thing! You KNOW I feel your pain! Literally! lol
Love ya lots
Missy
Hi Patti,
Knitting is such a nice relaxing hobby for winter.
I went back to check out your dollhouse and it is the exact same as mine except for the color. That would have been a real labor of love for sure.I love how you decorated it for Christmas too.
Thank you for your nice comment.
Carolyn
Oh ouch!!! I hope the tooth is all fixed now. Your knit scarf is so pretty!! Good way to take your mind off of other things.
Hello Patti, and thank you for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. I love your dollhouse and what you have done to it. I have one too, only the owner doesn't seem to get around to the interior. I commend you for doing almost all of the construction yourself. I had my husband put mine together. I have a big plastic tote full of furniture and all the trimmings to get my house in order. Maybe one day I will take the time. In the meantime I am crocheting away and hope to do some sewing. For some reason I couldn't see the pics of your scarf? Stop by anytime and I will be back to see what is happening in your little corner of the world. Have a great weekend.
Susanne :)
Hi there! I noticed that you found my blog so I came over to see yours.. LOVE your dollhouse! I got a very neat one right before Christmas.. all inlaid floors and all. But we need to get the lights going... it's missing the connection from the house to the wall. Nice meeting you! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
That scarf is so pretty...hope you are doing well:)

Hi Patti, so glad you came to visit me. Hope all the issues with your tooth are gone. How miserable, and such a fine tooth to break! Glad you are knitting and crocheting. I think I would lose my mind if I did not have yarn in my hands. I can knit pretty well and crochet some, if you have any questions I would be happy to help you if I can. Claudia is the real crocheter in our family, I just play around. Please come and visit me again.
Have a great day,
Meredith
Darling Patti!
Oh sweet one, I have missed your posts! But thank you from the bottom of my heart for your visits and KIND WORDS! FORTY YEARS FOR YOU TWO???? I still cannot believe it is thirty for us now! Many thanks and are you painting anything these days???? STAY BLOGGING MY DEAR...show us what ya got!!!
BE WELL! Anita
Ow! Goodness, sorry about your tooth, that's no fun. Glad you have your knitting, though, to keep your mind occupied. I don't know how I would function in this world without my knitting. Your scarf is lovely! :)
PATTI DEAR!!! Oh how nice it is to see you come to visit! I know how busy life gets, but it really is special that you would take the time to visit! Now that spring is coming so quickly, you will hopefully have lovely days to get outside to do some painting. I look forward to seeing your new projects come to pass! I cannot believe how this winter fizzled by. The temps here are warmer than normal, and I think that is the case with most of us. I just can't wait to have summer off!
LOVE TO YOU PATTI! Anita
Hi Patti,
Sorry to hear about your tooth. I am sooooo afraid of the dentist!
Love your scarf! Especially the colors!
hugs,
Jackie
I saw your post over at Claudia's blog and thought I'd drop by for a visit. Darling blog. I also suffered a broken tooth - while in Mexico eating salad! - but that created a dilemma down the line the same as yours. Had to replace it and that led to others being replaced to match it. Oooooh, what a dilemma. But it is fine now.
xoxo,
Connie
